The community deserves meaningful opportunities to be heard. Stronger communication must be
established between the School Board and the people it represents. Community town halls, listening
sessions, stakeholder forums, advisory groups, surveys, and increased partnerships with civic, faith-
based, business, and community organizations can help strengthen that relationship. Students,
parents, educators, staff, and community members should have meaningful opportunities to provide
input on issues affecting their schools. Board members should also be visible beyond the Board room
by attending school and community events, engaging with stakeholders, and developing relationships
throughout the communities they represent. Accessibility also means ensuring information reaches
families who cannot attend meetings or who may face language or communication barriers. District
information should be communicated clearly, consistently, and through multiple platforms, with
multilingual resources available when necessary. The goal is to help bridge the gap between the
School Board, the school district, and the community so stakeholders feel informed, respected, and included.
